Having recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, T-Mobile Center, continued the successful trend of exceeding both attendance and fiscal projections.

“T-Mobile Center’s 2012 calendar was jam packed with fabulous events and significant milestones including setting attendance records, launching our mobile application and opening The GRAMMY Museum Experience,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City senior vice president and general manager. “In welcoming guests from every state in the union by hosting diverse events, Kansas City continues to reinforce its world-class reputation as a thriving entertainment hub. AEG is proud to provide $1.85 million to the city of Kansas City, Mo. through our profit-sharing provision in our management agreement further demonstrating the strength of our successful partnership. ”

T-Mobile Center’s 2012 calendar was jam packed with diverse programming from a variety of genres including a first ever visit to the state of Missouri by Madonna; return trips by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Justin Bieber, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Martina McBride and Vicente Fernandez; first time headlining visits by Radiohead, Eric Church, Drake and the Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as family shows and motorsports events.

Additionally, T-Mobile Center hosted several sold-out concerts in 2012 including setting a new venue concert attendance record with Jason Aldean on March 17 and earned its third consecutive Venue of the Year nomination from the Academy of Country Music. As a result of aggressive programming and an unrelenting commitment to guest service, T-Mobile Center/AEG has provided more than $8 million in unanticipated revenue to the City of Kansas City, having exceeded financial and attendance projections in each year since opening.

Pollstar utilizes an extensive database to collect box office reports from the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues during the 2012 calendar year. Rankings are based on tickets sold for live entertainment performances between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2012.
