Nominated to Missouri State Tourism Commission

General Manager and Senior Vice President of T-Mobile Center/AEG Kansas City (AEG-KC), has been nominated by Governor Jay Nixon to serve on the Tourism Commission. Under the direction of Katie Steele Danner, the Tourism Commission determines all matters relating to policy and administration of tourism promotion for the State of Missouri. oversees AEG-KC, which includes T-Mobile Center, Kemper Arena and the American Royal Complex. The Governor has nominated her for a term ending Jan. 15, 2015, which was approved by the Missouri Legislature during the 2011 session.

“Being an ambassador for the State of Missouri is a wonderful opportunity and privilege,” said Tinnen. “I look forward to working with the Missouri Department of Tourism, local convention and visitor associations, businesses and residents to continue to encourage visitors to explore all corners of our state.”

In her role with AEG Kansas City, is credited with establishing T-Mobile Center as one of the world’s busiest arenas. Under her leadership, has booked nearly 400 diverse events attracting nearly 4 million guests to Kansas City including Elton John, Jimmy Buffett, Rascal Flatts, Lady Gaga, Billy Joel, Kid Rock, The Police, The Eagles, the launch of Tina Turner’s North American Tour with two sold out performances, three sold out Bon Jovi shows and nine record breaking sold out shows by Garth Brooks -- including a live broadcast into more than 300 movie theaters around the world. According to Pollstar Magazine’s 2010 Year End Report, T-Mobile Center has been recognized as America’s fifth busiest arena and No. 13 among Worldwide Venues. The #13 slot is T-Mobile Center’s highest year-end ranking since opening on Oct. 10, 2007.

currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Women’s Intersport Network (WINforKC). She has been honored in the inaugural class of KCB Magazine’s 50+1 Influential Women, one of 25 Women Who Mean Business by the Kansas City Business Journal, Woman of Influence by Venues Today and earned the distinction of Facility Executive of the Year by Pollstar Magazine.
