Miami HEAT DJ Shares Passion for Music and Mentoring at GRAMMY Museum Experience Career Exploration Program
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City Participate in GRAMMY Museum Experience Backstage Pass Program
Kansas City, Mo. (Oct. 11, 2013) – Celebrity entertainer and philanthropist, DJ Irie, joined the GRAMMY Museum Experience @ T-Mobile Center in presenting a special Backstage Pass program for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. Just before the Miami HEAT and Charlotte Bobcats tipped off at T-Mobile Center, Irie inspired both “Bigs” and “Littles,” sharing experiences as an entertainer, entrepreneur and mentor.
“I feel very blessed and fortunate for my success, and decided it was time for me to give back”…“For me, the satisfaction arrives in the form of smiles on children's faces. It doesn’t get better than that,” says Irie, creator of The Irie Foundation – a non-profit organization supporting at-risk youth in South Florida.
A career-exploration program that debuted in May 2013, the GRAMMY Museum Experience @ T-Mobile Center Backstage Pass uses music as a gateway to learning. The program provides Kansas City youth exclusive access to artists and music-industry professionals - highlighting the importance of music, the creative process of songwriting, career development opportunities and the business of music.
By creating meaningful learning experiences, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Irie Foundation and the GRAMMY Museum Experience @ T-Mobile Center continue efforts in improving the lives of Kansas City youth through the power of music while providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring relationships and experiences.
