KANSAS CITY, MO (June 15, 2023) – The University of Kansas (KU) and WichitaState University (WSU) men’s basketball teams will play at T-Mobile Center on December 30, 2023, in their first regular season game against each other in 31 years.

“We always enjoy playing in Kansas City at the T-Mobile Center and look forward to facing Wichita State,” says University of Kansas Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bill Self. “Paul Mills did a great job rebuilding Oral Roberts and is no stranger to our program from his time as an assistant at Baylor. This will be a great opportunity for fans in the Kansas City area to watch our team over the holidays and it will be a great game for us preparing for Big 12 play.”

University of Kansas and Wichita State University first played each other in men’s basketball in 1908. Since then, the teams have only met for a total of 15 games to date. The last time they competed was at the 2015 NCAA Men’s Midwest Regional, which took place in Omaha, Nebraska.
