KSU Takes Top Spot in Big 12 Preseason Poll
Kansas State takes the top spot in the Big 12 preseason poll for the first time. With a school-record 29 wins and Elite Eight appearance last year, they look to build upon that success and carry it into the new season.
The Wildcats bested their in-state rival and reigning Big 12 champion Kansas by receiving 10 first place votes for a total of 119 points. Kansas received a total of 109 points followed by Texas (99), Baylor (96), Missouri (82), Texas A&M (69), Texas Tech (52), Oklahoma State (51), Colorado (46), Nebraska (31), Oklahoma (27) and Iowa State (11).
T-Mobile Center will host a number of Big 12 teams this season. Watch Kansas State battle Gonzaga, Duke and Marquette in the 2010 O’Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic on Nov. 22 and 23. The Wildcats also play the UNLV Rebels on Dec. 21.
If you’re not a Wildcat fan, the Missouri Tigers play Georgetown on Nov. 30 and the Kansas Jayhawks take on the Colorado State Rams Dec. 11. The season finale comes as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship comes back to Kansas City March 9-12 for a Big 12 record tenth time.
