Elected Chair Of Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association
Kansas City, MO (Feb. 8, 2014) — At its Jan. 28 meeting, the Board of Directors for the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association (KCCVA) elected General Manager and Senior Vice President, AEG-Kansas City, as the organization’s new Chair.
Appointed in 2011, previously served as Treasurer and is the second woman to Chair the organization in its 96-year history, following Anita B. Gorman from 1995 to 1997. She succeeds Immediate Past Chair Troy Stremming. In her storied career, has held many development and operational roles within AEG and is credited with the most successful venue launch outside of New York or Los Angeles when she opened T-Mobile Center. Under leadership T-Mobile Center has welcomed nearly 7 million guests attending nearly 750 events. Currently ranked as the eighth busiest arena in America according to Pollstar, T-Mobile Center has contributed nearly $9.3 million in unanticipated revenue to the city of Kansas City, Mo.
“The CVA contributes so much to the growth and development of Kansas City,” said incoming Chair. “It’s an honor to take part in the continued success as we look to push Kansas City to new heights as a national and international destination.”
In addition to the new Chair announcement, Gayle Holiday will continue her role as Vice Chair while Mike Klingensmith and David Lopez were appointed to the Board for two-year terms.
