David Anderson Named Regional Director of AEG China

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 29, 2009) – David Anderson has been named Regional Director of AEG China Operations it was announced by Bob Newman, Chief Operating Officer of AEG Facilities. Based in Shanghai, Anderson’s immediate responsibilities will include establishment and oversight of various elements of arena operations including construction, event operations, arena services, and guest services. AEG and the National Basketball Association (NBA) recently announced a partnership to design, program and operate multi-purpose, NBA-style sports and entertainment arenas in major cities throughout China.

“David Anderson will bring a vast array of knowledge, perspective and facility management expertise to AEG China,” said Newman. “We are excited to have landed the ideal candidate to oversee such an important initiative for AEG and our partners.”

Most recently, Anderson has served as Vice President and Assistant General Manager of T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. In 2006, at the request of General Manager Brenda Tinnen, Anderson relocated to Kansas City becoming an integral part of T-Mobile Center’s design, construction and development team.

“Since opening in Fall 2007, T-Mobile Center’s evolution as a regional economic engine and entertainment destination can be directly attributed to the efforts of David Anderson,” said Tinnen. “Although Kansas City will miss David greatly, AEG China will undoubtedly benefit from his talents and expertise.”

Anderson began his career in the 1990’s with the Chicago White Sox and his resume includes arena management, hospitality and guest services at a diverse list of premier facilities including T-Mobile Center, Staples Center, Home Depot Center, U.S. Cellular Field, United Center, Angels Stadium of Anaheim, Kodak Theater and Qualcomm Stadium.

“Having served in development, design, construction and operations capacities for some of the world’s finest venues including STAPLES Center, T-Mobile Center and Home Depot Center, I am pleased that AEG has entrusted me with this significant responsibility,” said Anderson. “These diverse experiences combined with my efforts as an operational consultant during the 2008 Beijing Olympics have provided a foundation for AEG China future opportunities.”
