Event Details
Street League Skateboarding, the premier professional street skateboarding series worldwide, makes its second 2011 League stop at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, following Nyjah Huston’s incredible first place win of $150,000 at the tour’s first stop in Seattle. On Saturday and Sunday, fans will witness T-Mobile Center’s transformation into a city-like urban concrete skate plaza with the world’s best competing for the highest stakes in skateboarding history. The top professional skateboarders will compete exclusively for a groundbreaking $1.6 million prize purse in an instant scoring format where a fortune can come down to the final trick. The event will be broadcasted LIVE on ESPN and ESPN2 with an international webcast.
The world's largest skateboard will make its debut in Kansas City this week as well. Officially certified by the Guinness World Records in 2009, the over 3,600 pound skateboard was conceptualized by Dyrdek and Joe Ciaglia, founder and president/CEO of California Skateparks. The board is built on a 12.5:1 ratio to a standard size skateboard and measures 36 feet 7 inches long, 8 foot 8 inches wide and stands 3 feet 7 inches tall.
Doors will open to the public at 2 PM on Saturday, June 11 and will open at 1:30 PM on Sunday, June 12.
